Instructions for assembling—Amundsen open or Compact open

  1. Inflate the seat and attach it with two Velcro fasteners to the previously unrolled packraft. You can mount the seat in two positions. Do this before inflating your packraft.
  2. Unscrew two elements from the double-acting valve located at the stern of the packraft.
  3. Screw the pumping bag into the valve (if you have a bag with a valve), remember not to do it too tight, two turns are enough. If you have a pumping bag with a drawstring—put it on the valve, tighten the drawstrings. Make sure that the material sleeve at the valve is not being twisted during pumping.
  4. Bring air with the pumping bag and roll up its upper part, then push the air inside the packraft by squeezing the bag. If it is windy, just point the bag towards the wind, if the weather is calm, lower the bag slightly, then lift and roll up the upper part.
  5. Disconnect the inflation bag from the valve. Close the first part of the valve only. The other part of the valve remains unscrewed. Inflate the packraft as much as possible with your mouth. Close the other part of the valve, not too tight.

Instructions for assembling—Amundsen with deck or Compact with deck

  1. Inflate the seat and attach it with two Velcro fasteners to the previously unrolled packraft. You can mount the seat in two positions.
  2. Install the frame in the deck by folding the metal pieces together and sliding them into the tunnel. Metal elements can be soaked beforehand so that they pass through the tunnel more easily.
  3. Do steps 1 and 2 before inflating your packraft.
  4. Unscrew two elements from the double-acting valve located at the stern of the packraft.
  5. Screw the pumping bag into the valve (if you have a bag with a valve), remember not to do it too tight, two turns are enough.
  6. Bring air with the pumping bag and roll up its upper part, then push the air inside the packraft by squeezing the bag. If it is windy, just point the bag towards the wind, if the weather is calm, lower the bag slightly, then lift and roll up the upper part.
  7. If you have a pumping bag with a drawstring—put it on the valve, tighten the drawstrings. Make sure that the material sleeve at the valve is not being twisted during pumping.
  8. Disconnect the inflation bag from the valve. Close the first part of the valve only. The other part of the valve remains unscrewed. Inflate the packraft as much as possible with your mouth. Close the other part of the valve, not too tight.
  9. Put the apron on your shoulders, adjusting the length of the straps (remember that straps that are too short will restrict your range of motion). Only then get into the packraft and pull the apron over the frame.

TIPS

It is a good practice to get into a packraft that is fully prepared and is directly on the water without contact with the ground.

Remember that the air inside the packraft will decrease in volume when it is placed in cold water. In this case, you should inflate it more. It will determine the durability of the equipment.
